Have you ever heard of “Dinner in the Sky”? It's pretty much what you think it might be – a dinner where the diners sit down to eat just like in a normal restaurant, only they do so at a table suspended 50 metres above the ground!

dinner sky, SMEG, 2014, editionThis amazing travelling event, launched in 2007, involves a platform fitted with special seats which can host up to 22 guests and 5 chefs and waiters. Over the last seven years, the eclectic temporary restaurant has visited an incredible number of international destinations, from Sydney to Paris, Dubai to Las Vegas, delighting diners not only with breathtaking views, but also with mouth-watering creations from the Michelin-starred chefs taking turns in this kitchen in the clouds.

The format of this somewhat surreal gastronomic experience is similar in all countries it visits, but the dinners put on in Belgium have something extra to go with the highly exclusive context – the customers are surrounded by Smeg products! Thanks to a partnership with Smeg Belgium, since 2012 the Belgian “Dinners in the Sky” have hosted some guests of honour who are able to provide a 50s touch to an already incomparably stylish experience. These dinners are proving what we have known all along – that Smeg products are perfect in any kitchen, even those suspended among the clouds.
