Always keen to get involved with a good cause, Smeg have recently teamed up with one of its largest displaying stockists in the midlands, Borshch Electric to help them raise money for the fantastic local charity ‘Help Harry Help Others’. Their main focus is to fund research to discover a cure for brain tumours and brain cancer. On top of this, they also look to help those children with the illness and provide a support network for the families who are affected. Their philosophy is to cure, cope and care.

Help Harry Help Others (HHHO) was originally set up by Harry Moseley, an unbelievably brave young boy, who began to campaign, fundraise and raise awareness for children with cancer after he was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. The initial campaign began with Harry making and selling bracelets to raise money for Cancer research projects, but soon the positive energy and fundraising success began to grow, and eventually turned in to the charity it is today.

Sadly, Harry lost his battle with Cancer in 2011, and now his mum Georgie runs HHHO as a registered charity. Georgie not only continues with all of Harry’s efforts to help families who are struggling with cancer, but also inspires the next generation through the story of Harry’s work and bravery.

Harry’s famous bracelets are still making a huge impact, especially during the world cup, with bracelets in the colours of every countries team! It went down well at the tournament in 2010, and is going even better this time around. Every time someone brought a bracelet, they were entered into a prize draw to win the bright yellow FAB28fridge.Georgie said “The public love the chance to win a Smeg fridge and for free, and for us it helped drive the World Cup bracelet donations.  In total with our small resources as a team of just 3 we generated £2,864 which we are delighted with especially as this will also generate more awareness for the charity”.

Phil Cox, Sales Director at Borshch also commented “Borshch, like Smeg are committed to giving back to our community, over the years we have worked closely with Birmingham Children’s hospital raising funds, this year I was lucky enough to meet Georgie Mosely who works tirelessly to funmdraise for this fantastic cause so there was no question as to us getting behind HHHO. Smeg every year have been amazing with their support and we would like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their continued support to both our company Borshch and our chosen charity.”

Smeg are delighted to be involved with such a great cause, and are thrilled to see the winner Kelly Price is enjoying her new fridge, and HHHO is enjoying further success. Keep up the good work guys!
