Smeg joined forces with four well-known foodies and 50 kids last weekend at The Long Lunch, a Sydney Morning Herald Kids in the Kitchen Good Food Month event.  The no-parents-allowed hands-on class covered table setting, salad making, cake decorating and burger preparation and cooking.

The kids were divided into groups for each activity before coming together at the end to eat and share their results

The Long Lunch was held at The Studio in Rosebery, in Sydney’s inner-city. The huge, airy working photographic studio was transformed into a fun, kid-friendly space with bunches of bright balloons, a stunning display of cakes ready for decorating and a table groaning with fresh produce.

Three Smeg FAB fridges in royal blue, yellow and red completed the fun space.

Smeg also provided a built-in barbecue for cooking the chicken burgers and Thermoseal pyrolytic ovens for the bikkies.

The hosts

Groups were hosted by four of Australia’s most notable foodies: Anneka Manning [BakeClub], Saskia Beer [Barossa Farm Produce], Rowie Dillon [Rowie’s Cakes] and Anne-Marie Cummins [Food Dept].

The kids had a great day!
