God save the fridge
For Italians, the claim that English people do not know how to cook, is a fact. The English would surely have something to say about this, defending their cuisine, retorting that it is a solid pillar of the English economy! They would invite you to connect to BBC 1 and check out the extremely popular English TV series dedicated to baking: The Great British Bake Off. 10 chefs, a flurry of culinary challenges, a good dose of English humour, and a parade of TV stars. The secret of the programme is that everybody gets involved with the cooking – producing endless plates of muffins, cheesecakes, pancakes, apple pies with little scoops of vanilla ice cream and much much more...
And the real cherry on the cake is that they invited an Italian to conserve the raw ingredients for each transmission. A SMEG FAB30 dressed immaculately in perfect cream, it is there to ensure quality and style, and it is completely, and happily, dedicated to the cuisine. And so we discover that there is at least one Italian who appreciates great British cuisine. Well done.
